There are some simple rules you should keep in mind:

• Be a fair player.
• Do not cheat to improve your rating.
• Be nice to other players.
• If you violate any of these rules, we can block your account or delete your ratings.

To keep the site's environment fun and friendly for all, it's important that everyone follow the rules. If you break the rules, we will notice and there will be consequences!



This is how the rating system works:
For each game, everyone starts with a rating of 1000. After every game, your rating for that game changes depending on who won and how high your opponent's rating was at the start of the game.

• If you play against someone whose rating is the same as yours, you can each win or lose the same number of points.
• If your opponent has a higer rating than you, then you stand to win more points and risk losing less.
• If you play against an opponent with a lower rating than yours, you get less points for winning and you can lose more with a loss.
• It is even possible to win or lose points for a draw, if the rating of your opponent is significantly higher or lower than yours!
• When you play against an unregistered player, your rating will be adjusted as if you were playing against someone with a rating of 1000.
• In games where you play against more than one opponent, your rating is recalculated according to your opponents' ratings. This means that, even if you get 3rd place in a round with 4 players, your rating can still go up if the player who placed 4th started off with a higher rating than yours!

Your rating is also listed in the the game rankings. However, if you haven't played for awhile, your rating will be removed from the list. Just play the game again to see your rating in the rankings.



Your game statistics (how many games you've played, how many games you've won, etc) are updated after every game. They're even updated if you play against unregistered players!



Since Internet Explorer 6 is outdated, we recommend that you upgrade to a newer browser (e.g., Firefox or a newer IE) and download the latest version of Flash.

Sometimes browser plug-ins can cause problems. If you're having a problem playing the games, turn off the plug-ins and try again.

If the games aren't working, it's also possible that you need to open some ports! The ports 10,000 to 40,000 have to be open. This sounds complicated, but the person who configured your internet access should know how to handle this.
